We R 1

Good Morning Viewers and Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanna share with you a must read book for the holiday season and for any occasion. I find this book inspirational, uplifting and revitalizing. It contains basic principles to empower your life. The book also has motivational stories that can help you learn how to enjoy everyday life more fully. It is called "We R 1" - a journey of inspirational stories - and is written by none other than my daughter who is my first-born child.

She always told me she was going to write a book and now that vision has come true. What a wonderful title and message - we are one - as there is so much more that unites people than what can potentially separate us if we let it. So, find that cosy spot in the room and read something that will remind you to be thankful on this Thanksgiving and our Christmas season holidays.

The author is Katina M. Cotton. You can find her book on amazon. Below, I have shared some photos and links about her as a person, author, her book and endeavours as a motivational speaker from around the web e.g youtube.

This shows a gallery of how I have incorporated the beautiful book cover into my console table top display.

This shows the font and inside covers.

Overcome!

One of my favourite passages is the part about Overcoming and the other about fish jumping.

French Romantic Rooms- The Perfect Getaway

Good evening viewers, Today I want to share with you my passion for interior design.

One of my favorite style of interiors is French Romantic.

The reason I particularly like the French Romantic style is because it classical, aesthetic and relaxing. I believe the stylings are timeless and can never become outdated.

French design can be suited to many people as some of the colors can be very flamboyant and others can be neutral. Either way you look at it, it's just timeless.

A good attribute of French Romantic design is that you can mix it up with modern styling and retro flare, this makes an eclectic mix.

Add a little savoir-faire to your day :)

I hope you enjoy some of the designs I have picked out for you, Au revoir!

This is a stunning open room which incorporates French Romantic design using neutral colors.

I hope you enjoyed your trip to France today.

City of Bath

City of Bath

The City of Bath is a Roman City situated in the Southwest of England. It is located in the leafy county of Somerset which is known for its rolling hills and apple orchards where cider is produced.

Bath was first founded as a settlement by the Romans at around AD 60.

Bath is the largest city in Somerset and is located very close to the region's capital, Bristol.

Victoria Park- Bath

Bath as a city is famous for many reasons. First of all it is known for it's stunning architecture which has left here by the Romans and the Georgians. Much of Bath is built using bath stone which is a golden coloured which was quarried for locally.

Bath is most well known for the Roman Baths which are located in the city centre. Bath is what was known back in roman times as a spa town, this is where Romans would come to relax and cleanse themselves in the hot springs.

Bath has a very hilly landscape and is known for the 7 hills that connect the city together.

Bath is known to be one of the most beautiful cities in the UK and is extremely popular with tourists. Other roman cities in the UK include Chester and York.

Interesting facts:
  • The famous author Jane Austen once lived in Bath and she wrote some of her novels in the city.
  • Famous residents include Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage who owned apartments at the Royal crescent.
This is my post on the City of Bath- Enjoy!!!

Jane Austen lived at No. 4 of the apartments in the Bathwick area shown in the above picture.

Holburne Museum- Many famous artists exhibit their work here. This is a well known museum situated in Bathwick.

Don't forget to checkout Sally Lunn's Bun's and have a great cup of tea and a scone!!

High Style Design, Fabulous Frocks and Narnia with Whimsical Characters

Good Morning Readers

Today I want to share with you an eclectic mix of some favourite books.

High Style is an Interior design book about Hollywood Regency interiors. It is by Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield. If you like Hollywood Regency then this book is definitely one to add to your collection. Below, I have pictured it with some items that are truly heavenly.

The book is a great read and very architectural. I know you will appreciate the lovely pictures and glamorous interiors of that time as well as of today.

Fabulous Frocks by Jane Eastoe and Sarah Gristwood is a couture frocks collection of many and varied beautiful dresses. It is such a happy and celebratory book for the lover of garment design and couture. You can see both the cover and a spread below. Works as a nice display item as well don't you think?

Narnia by C.S Lewis is a classic. The giraffes in Tuxedo's reminded me of the whimsical characters in Narnia so I decided to put the book with them on my side table. The version of Narnia has the famous stories that have been filmed and a few more - it is the whole collection. Well worth reading for young and old actually.

So, I wish you all a good time exploring the many facets of life's beauty and creativity as embodied by the examples from this blog.

Enjoy!

Designing displays with books and trays!

Hi Readers,

This is my first post since before Christmas and New Year, I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everybody reading a Happy New Year and that they enjoyed their time off during the holiday season.

We are now two weeks in to the New Year and I'm sure many of us have mad new year's resolutions so don't be upset if it takes time to get used to them, just stick to it and you'll be fine!!!

Over the new year I did a lot of reading and these are some of my favourite books that I have now decided to incorporate into some of my designs.

The picture above showcases some memorobilia from the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee.

If you like working with different types of decorative carvings, you can also use them as
accessories on tables. These are some of my favourite design pieces.

I enjoyed finding this tray at a little antique shop.
Using the tray I have made a display using a wooden carved inlay showing

the past American presidents and I
have also combined it with the current president Barack Obama's
biography.

In this display below I am showcasing the wooden carving, the Barack Obama biography
and books with a Cartier Pen case.

Enjoy, and have a great day!!
