Chicago - "The Windy City"

Good evening viewers, Today I want to talk about one of my favourite cities in the world by the name of Chicago, Illinois which is situated in the United States of America. Chicago is one of the largest cities in the US and is situated in the mid-west of the country next to the famous Lake Michigan.

Chicago is mainly known for its warm hearted people, urban style and beautiful skylines. It is nicknamed the "Windy City" and "Chi-Town" because of the wind that comes in to the city from Lake Michigan. A well known part of Chicago is called "The Loop" this is where many of the streets meet together in downtown Chicago.

Some famous landmarks and buildings in the city which make up some of Chicago's famous skyline are the"Sears Tower", "John Hancock Building", "Chicago Sun Times Building" and the "Chicago Tribune Building".

As well as being famous for being a much loved American city it is also known for its many famous and successful sports teams in baseball, American football and basketball. These teams go by the names of the "Chicago Cubs", "Chicago Bears and the "Chicago Bulls".

If your ever in the United States make sure you visit downtown Chicago and "The Loop" as you will feel the contagious energy and the hustle and bustle of the city and get a good feel of what Chicago is all about.

Enjoy!

Another famous building in Chicago was Harpo Studios which was the company owned by
Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is an influential figure around the world and is famous for her talk show which captured peoples attention around the world and made them feel connected to the programme.

Oprah and her team have recently joined Facebook and here is a link to the video of how she joined Facebook and the video also includes some inspirational encouragement.
