"Yves Saint Laurent." He is a french fashion designer who was born in the north African country of Algeria and his name is one of the biggest in fashion history.
At the age of 18 he moved to Paris to study fashion and to further create his designs, he did this at the "Chambre Syndicale de la Couture" which is a world renowned school of design. Whilst he was studying here his designs got a lot of attention, especially from the world famous fashion designer Christian Dior who then became his mentor and took him on as an apprentice.
As well as his brand being one of the biggest names in couture design, he is also credited for introducing the pants suit for women which revolutionised fashion for women at the time and also he was known for using models from many different ethnic backgrounds in his runway shows which is something that hadn't been done much before.
Yves Saint Laurent was a revolutionary and an amazing fashion designer that I admire very much, I hope you enjoy my post dedicated to this fashion icon.
