A Special Place

Dear Viewers

Today I wanted to share with you about a special place. I visited here a few years ago and found it very unique and a peaceful and serene place to be. In fact, I wanted to stay for long and just soak in the glory of the place and its atmosphere.

The place is called Habo Church and is located in Habo in Sweden. It is a very unique wooden church building. It has been preserved in its current form since the 1700's. Its architecture is very unique for Sweden and for being in wood.

The paintings inside the church, from 1741-43 by Johan Kinnerius and Johan Christian Peterson, are captivating to say the least. They illustrate Martin Luther's catechism which is a summary of Christian doctrine and the basis for the Church of Sweden, so it was highly educational and instructive as well as extremely beautiful to behold.

As we reflect on the coming Easter, I think of this special place but also how our faith can be that special place where we find refuge.  So, I hope you have a Good Friday tomorrow of quietness and reflection and do not forget that Easter Sunday will come with its celebration and joy.  Stay in that special place as long as you can.

Happy Easter!
